Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik laid foundation of Runaya Refining at Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone of Runaya Refining at Jharsuguda on 19th February 2019. The project is an end-to-end green solution for the recovery of aluminium and processing residual waste from Aluminium smelters. The ceremony was held in presence of Mr. Annanya Agarwal- CEO, Runaya Refining, Mr. Bibhuti Bhushan Das- DM & Collector, Mr. Aswini Kumar Mohanty- Superintendent of Police, Mr. Abhijit Pati- CEO, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda and other senior members of the district administration, Runaya Refining LLP and Vedanta Ltd.


Speaking on the occasion Annanya Agarwal said, “Runaya’s vision is to enable growth in the Aluminium industry in a sustainable manner. We provide innovative sustainable solutions for the Aluminium industry. It is an important strategic initiative as a specialty innovative-solutions, which provides value-added products for regional and global markets.”
On the occasion, in their address, Dist. Collector & Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda and CEO, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda congratulated team Runaya and wished them good luck. Runaya Refining is a sustainability solutions company with operations based on its licensed proprietary patented technology. Runaya uses a technology which is in line with its vision for Green Projects and is based on zero waste and zero discharge. This technology is being introduced for the first time in South East Asia. Runaya has the capacity to process 30000 tonne per annum of aluminium dross into value-added product. The project will address one of the biggest challenges facing the Aluminium industry today, which relates to the handling, evacuation and disposal of dross in an environmentally friendly manner.
This Aluminium dross processing facility is giving rise to a multi-level aluminium industry ecosystem which would further bolster the potential of aluminium ancillary industry in Western Odisha and in other parts of the country.
