Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik directed the district Collectors to stay alert before untimely rains from December 7

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik reviewed preparations for the possible rains in the state from 7 to 10 December with Collectors of South, North and Central Odisha districts through video conference. He directed them to take urgent advance measures for protecting farmers’ harvest & standing crops.
Extensive drives should be undertaken to create awareness and advise farmer’s on steps to be taken for protection of their crops and harvest. Harvested crop should also be top priority and safety of all stock in Mandis should be ensured. Regulated Market Committee fund should be utilized for that purpose.
In view of the drought, unseasonal rains and pest attack this year, State Government has announced agricultural input subsidy of ₹718Cr for farmers in 29 districts. Chief Minister directed Collectors to disburse the same at the earliest.
