Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik asks BJP What happened to double engines in MP, Rajasthan, Punjab & Chhatisgarh

Bhubabneswar: BJD supremo, CM Naveen Patnaik in his speech today said BJP is losing everywhere in the country.

CM asks “What happened to double engines in MP, Rajasthan, Punjab & Chh’garh? In Gujarat BJP managed to scrape through with 99 seats, down from 182”. He also hits back at demonetisation & GST.

“In 2014 polls, the BJP was given mandate for development. But, it has lost people’s trust in past five years,” said Patnaik at his address during election campaign in Bhadrak district.

He criticised the BJP-led Centre’s demonetisation and GST policies terming those as ‘anti-people’ for which the national party is losing polls in every State.

He further said the saffron party is highlighting the Gujarat model of development. In 2017 assembly election, BJP got 99 out of 182 seats and escaped loss by a whisker. Now, the BJP is losing across the country.

Hitting out at the big leaders of BJP, Patnaik said they come to Odisha only during elections. “They did not come during flood, Phailin, Hudhud, Titli and drought. Now, they are thronging the state and shedding crocodile tears, he said.

The BJD supremo further accused the Centre of conspiring to stop KALIA scheme which has benefited 40 lakh farmers and reiterated that two installments of financial assistance (Rs 10,000) will be given to farmers on the first day of formation of BJD government.
