Odisha cabinet approves 12 proposals; 100 percent grant-in-aid for school teachers

Bhubaneswar: The state Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved 12 key proposals at the Secretariat on Saturday.

A sum of Rs 432 crore has been allocated for drinking water projects in Kendrapara, Angul and Jharsuguda districts. The state government has approved the proposal to abolish the block grant system. The teachers will get an increased salary as a grant in aid from January 2018. About 15,738 employees of 1,499 aided educational institutes will be benefited by this decision of the cabinet, sources said.

Moreover, the state cabinet has approved a proposal to make all stand posts located in NAC and municipality areas tax-free.
