Odisha BJP teams to visit Cyclone Titli, rain-affected areas

Bhubaneswar: Three State BJP teams would visit Cyclone Titli and subsequent rain-affected areas on Saturday to take stock of people’s problems and assess the damages.

“South Odisha has been affected by the severe cyclone Titli. Similarly, many areas along with coastal south districts have been marooned in rainwater caused by the effect of Titli. Communication and electricity systems have been ravaged while people have faced problems like lack of foods and drinking water and are staying in broken houses. The ruling party’s inefficiency and inertness in tackling storm have added to their woes,” alleged spokesperson Golak Prasad Mohapatra in a statement.

He informed that while a team headed by State vice-president Sameer Mohanty would visit Aska, two other teams led by general secretaries Prithviraj Harichandan and Bhrugu Baxipatra would visit Ganjam district and Gajapati district, respectively. The teams would go on visits on the direction of the party’s State president Basant Panda, he added.
