Odisha BJD leader Pratap Keshari Deb elected to Rajya Sabha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha BJD leader Pratap Keshari Deb elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. This was formally announced by the Odisha Assembly secretary A K Sarangi, who was the returning officer for the election. The by-election was necessitated as Bishnu Charan Das had resigned from the Rajya Sabha in March. The opposition Congress and the BJP had not fielded any candidate for the by-poll.
CM Naveen Patnaik congratulates Pratap Keshari Deb on being elected to Rajya Sabha. “I am sure, he will be an effective voice for Odisha in Upper House,” further added CM Patnaik.
