Odisha bags “India Today Tourism Award”

 

Bhubaneswar: Odisha bags tourism award in a function held in New Delhi, organised by ‘India Today’ Group. Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation handed over the first runners up prize in ‘Beach & Costal Tourism’ category. Ashok Chandra Panda, Minister, Tourism & culture received the award on behalf of the state. Minister Sri Panda said that State Government is taking a many encouraging steps for development of tourism sector, especially for development of Buddhist tourism, Tribal Tourism and Rural Tourism, while participating in a questionnaire session organised by ‘India Today’ Group.
In a glittering function held in Hotel Sheetal, New Delhi, Trivendra Singh Rawat Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Hariyana were present. Besides, Tourism Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and Secretaries of Tourism Department of Uttarakhand and West Bengal also participated. Smt Arti Ahuja, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Odisha was also present. Raj Chengappa, Group Editor, India Today co-ordinated the function.
