Odisha: Adhar Card reunited missing child to parents in Jagatsinghpur

Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: An Adhar card has reunited a missing child, district administration and child protection unit after identifying disappeared child parents handed over them on Friday.
Report said that on December 2016 Para dip police had rescued a disabled teen aged child Rajendra Kumar and handed over to district child protection unit for rehabilitation. The child protection unit and police had started a probe identifying the child’s parents and their identity. As the child was deaf and dumb cops had unable detecting his identity and nativity later the victim child had handed over to district protection unit for rehabilitation.
The child protection unit sent him to Sishu Ashrama a local rehabilitation home here but legal problem arose furnishing Childs’s father name and identity enabling him for disabled certificate.
The child had taken for Adhar Card registration in collector office here one week ago but after taking finger print of child his father’s name and address had revealed. Immediately the identifying man had being contacted by the child protection unit and responded positively who informed that his 12 year son has been missing one year and till today they have unable receiving his whereabouts.
The child protection unit had called the identifying man coming to Jagatsinghpur district headquarters for verification, who reached here on Thursday and contacted district collector and child protection unit. The man was identified as Suresh Kumar and his wife Manju Devi a resident of Gandhi road under Dhanbad district of Jhadakhand state.
The child had produced before the parents Thursday who identified him and the child too recognized his father and mother. District collector Yamini Sarangi sanctioned Rs 10.000 from Red Cross after knowing the parents were poor unable to bear the expenses occurring for child’s medical treatment later the child had handed over to his parents in presence of child protection unit chairperson, security officer and other office bearers.
