Baripada: as many as five people were killed and 15 others injured, five of them seriously, when the bus by which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a tractornear the Kherana jungle of Badampahad in Bamanghati hilly .
The injured were immediately shifted to the Badampahad and Rairangpur hospitals. Rairangour SDPO Mohan Pani Karua and Badampahad police station IIC Nabakishore Das reached the spot and with help of locals carried out rescued operation.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the five people killed in the accident.
