NTPC Talcher organised Ash User Meet at Kaniha

Kaniha: Ash User Meet for representatives of Fly Ash based industries was organized by NTPC Talcher Kaniha at Regional Learning Institute on 19.09.2017. The programme was chaired by Sh. A.K.Tripathy, GM (O&M) in presence of Sh. Niaranjan Acharya, GM(M) and other NTPC Officials and representatives of various fly ash based industries.

Sh. S.S.Pradhan, AGM (EMG/AU) gave welcome address and briefed the overview of the agenda of the programme.

Sh. A.K.Tripathy, GM(O&M) gave an overview of the dry ash facilities available and regarding the quality of fly ash provided by NTPC Kaniha. Around 18000 tonnes of ash is generated daily. Existing ash storage capacity of 1700 MT is available and the ash storage capacity is under expansion so in near future ample quantity of ash shall be available. He assured to provide good quality ash on sustainable basis and declared the meeting open for discussion.

Sh. Niranjan Acharya, GM(M) on this occasion spoke about the importance of ash utilisation in the present scenario. He urged the industries to increase the uptake of ash and shared the benefits of use of fly ash brick and impact of clay bricks on environment.

A short presentation on fly ash utilisation and the procedure to avail transport subsidy at NTPC Kaniha was elaborated. The programme was attended by fly ash based manufacturers including brick and asbestos. Participant’s queries were clarified by NTPC regarding the sustainable supply of quality ash. Representatives of about 48 ash based industries participated in the programme. The meeting was concluded with vote of thanks by Sh S.S.Pradhan.
