Kanhia: NTPC Talcher Kaniha received the Prestigious National Safety Award from Govt. of India, New Delhi on 17.09.2018. It bagged the National Safety Award as the winner under Scheme of Accident-Free Year for the year 2016.
Shri A K Tripathy, GM(O&M), Talcher Kaniha received the award from Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Honourable Minister of State(Independent Charge) for Labour & Employment, Govt.of India at New Delhi.
Prior the station has bagged two National Safety awards as winners under Scheme of Accident-Free Year & Lowest Average Frequency Rate in Accidents for the Performance Year 2014. The station had also won National safety awards for the performance years 2013, 2012 & 2009.
