Nirpendra Misra, PK Mishra re-appointed as Principal Secy, Additional Principal Secy to PM Modi in rank of cabinet minister

New Delhi: The government announced on Tuesday that principal secretary Nripendra Misra and additional principal secretary Pramod Kumar Misra will continue in their positions in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), which sees no major administrative change at the top-most administrative level.

The two officers have been given Cabinet ranks, similar to the other top adviser to Prime Minister Narendra Modi — National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Nripendra Misra’s expertise in economy and delivery, PK Misra’s management of key bureaucratic appointments, and Doval’s handling of national security are expected to be the core strengths of the PMO.

The order for the appointments of Nripendra Misra and PK Misra were signed by the secretary, appointments.

The order states that their terms, which begin on May 31, 2019, will be co-terminus with that of the Prime Minister. Nripendra Misra is 1967-batch UP cadre officer who has also served as a Telecom Regulatory Authority of India chairperson. PK Misra is a 1972-batch Gujarat cadre officer.
