Bhubaneswar: Newly elected BJD MLA from Bijepur constituency Rita Sahu, who won the Bye-election by huge margin yesterday, met party supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here on Thursday.
Sahu was accompanied by Labour Minister Sushant Singh, Handlooms Minister Snehangini Chhuria and hundreds of party workers during her meeting with Naveen.
The BJD candidate registered a thumping victory by defeating her nearest rival Ashok Panigrahi of BJP with a huge margin of over 41,000 votes.
“The clean image of CM Naveen Patnaik and the State governments various developmental projects in our region as well as the popularity of my husband helped me to win this by-election,” said the MLA-elect Rita Sahu to media.
