Report by Akshya Rout; Jajpur: An accused who had killed a 35 -year old murder convict in Jajpur district on Sunday night was arrested on Thursday night .
The accused Purnachandra Sahoo (44) of Singhpur village under Binjharapur police station was arrested from a house at Chatia on Thursday night , said Charan Singh Mina the Superintendent of Police of Jajpur .
The arrested accused killed Abhimanyu Das a murder convict of Singhpur village by hurling bombs at him on Sunday night. The deceased was serving a prison term for life imprisonment since 2013 on the charges of killing Ranjan Thatoi of Singhpur village on 1st June 2011 . He was out on bail since eight months, added the police officer.
The arrested accused was booked under section- 302 (murder) of IPC and section 3 of the Explosives Substances Act.
Some BJP supporters of district protested the killing of Abhimanyu claiming the deceased was a local BJP leader on Monday by blocking the main road at Singhpur .
