Lanjigarh: The Vedanta inter village cricket Tournament has been concluded today with witnessing 05thousand people where Mukundapur(Rayagada) won the trophy by beating Kesinga with 02 wickets. After winning toss Kesinga started batting and the final match has been inaugurated chairman Fakir Majhi in the presence of other delegates like Manohar Harpal Social worker, IIC Lanjigarh P.S and Bhimasen sahu. Team kesinga scored 96 runs with the loss of all wickets in 15over.later team Mukundpur chased the score in 14.2 overs with losing 07 wickets. Guest s given prizes for Biswajeet (Best Bowler), Sunil Kadraka (best Sixer), Asish (Best Wicket keeper) from Mukundapaur team and Best Fielder Rinku from Kesinga team. In the award ceremony Mr Bimlananda Senapati Plant head Vedanta limited Lanjigarh attended as chief guest and felicitated the winner trophy to the winning team .Dignitaries like Fakir Majhi-Chairman Lanjigarh P.S attended as Guest of honor ,Smt Namita Majhi-Sarapanch (Jagannathpur G.P), Smt Manguli Majhi Sarapanch (Basantapada G.P) ,Smt Mani Majhi-Sarapanch Lanjigarh G.P , Biraja Sankar Mund-Power plant Head , Chandradhwaj Pesnia-President Labor union, Rajendra Prasad Mahapatra(Officer In charge Lanjigarh Police Station) attended and encouraged the players with prizes and trophy. To be noted that the winner team got a cash prize of Rs.20000/- and Runner team with a cash prize of Rs.15000/- from the Guests. Mr Senapati in the closing ceremony felicitated the newly elected PRI members with sawl and says that Vedanta as a part of its public relations activity has been associating with the locals towards promoting cricket among the young starts and such type of sports will helpful to create a brotherhood, friendship and is a platform towards exchange of knowledge on development. Fakir Majhi-Chairman Lanjigarh P.S thanks the organizer team and told that such type of cricket tournament will encourage the local talents and create lots of new talents. Vedanta Ltd has partnered with Golden Sports Club NVN Colony in Lanjigarh for a Cricket Tournament where around 40 teams from nearby villages of Kalahandi and Rayagada participated. Srimukha agasty has been delivering the commentary and sidhartha behera given vote of thanks to the esteemed guests and others after completion of the final ceremony. Madhu Sudan Nag and Ajay Nag are doing the empire ship for the final match of the tournament. Pabitra Majhi-president golden sports club, Hari Majhi, Shatrughna Chalan, Rabi Dandasena, Dasarathi Majhi and Jala Majhi are the active participants to make the tournament successful. To be noted that the tournament has been inaugurated by Mr. Jalaj Malpani-Head Finance Vedanta Limited on 26th February 2017 and it runs for last 25 days with lots of joy and happiness.
