Milk Mantra organized its 2ndSkill Development Programme for its Transporters in collaboration with the local police

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to educate the transporters who play a vital role in the dairy supply chain and ensure that cold chain efficiency is maintained in bringing Truly Pure products for consumers, Milk Mantra, one of the leading dairy brands of East India, organized its 2ndSkill Development Programme at its Gop plant, in collaboration with the local police Department.

To achieve the objective this session focused on the Motor Vehicle Act including traffic rules, registration, insurance, pollution control certificate, driving license and keeping good health conditions. Various safety measures were also taught for safer transportation of milk and milk products from the farmers to the consumers in order to avoid accidents and deal with traumatic situations.

Around 120transporters, owners and drivers who transport milk inwards from Milk Mantra’s 430 village collection centres and also those who take packaged milk outwards across the state to retail counters attended the programme. The Sales Marketing Head, Mr. Swayam P Misra felicitated 15drivers of the company for their service and good conduct.
It is to be noted that Milk Mantra,instead of opting for a logistics company,has consciously focused on skilling, training and employing people from the rural areas who previously had negligible work experience in their logistics operations. Around 200 transporters including women owners are partof the both outward n inward logisticoperations of Milk Mantra. It has created source of income for around hundred familiescontributing towards sustainable livelihood to 1000s of lives of the rural of Odisha.
Acknowledging the transporters effort towards the company, Sales Marketing Head, Mr. Swayam Praksh Misra said “Our transporters, may it be inward or outward play an indispensable role by ensuring the products reach their respective end at the right time without causing any damage to them. And as they travel mostly in the odd times, some in early hours of the day and some at the late night, safety is paramount for their lives. Thus this Skill Development Program will definitely help them towards a safer drive.”
Speaking on the occasion DSP – Nipamara said, “You have chosen to rise above being simple labors to become skilled labors & for that to retain its essence in all times to come, you will have to constantly upskill yourselves to ensure road safety & effective utilization of resources of company & your owners”. Few transporters also shared their brief experience at the event. ”The clean image that the company has helped us regain courage in doing business after getting disheartened by indulging in various activities to maintain our family” said one of the driver who had been associated with the company.
