MCL gives Garbage compactor to Sambalpur City

Sambalpur: A garbage compactor vehicle today rolled on Sambalpur City roads signifying commitment of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) towards its mission Swachh Koyalanchal (Clean Coalfields), under Swachh Bharat Mission.

A modern machine to manage solid waste funded by MCL under Corporate Social Responsibility was given green signal at Jail Chowk here by Dr Raseswari Panigrahi, honorable Member of Legislative Assembly, in the presence of Mr Smarth Verma, IAS, Collector, Sambalpur, Mr M S Ansari, Chief Manager (Civil/CSR), MCL and other district officials.

Procured at accost of Rs 24 lakh for solid waste management, the garbage compactor vehicle would play a pivotal role in making Sambalpur a clean city of the state in Sambalpur City.

MCL, the highest contributor to Odisha state under CSR, is playing a significant role in social-economic development of under-privileged segments of the society.

Having constructed 10,546 toilets in Odisha schools under Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan, this flagship subsidiary of Coal India has planned series of activities under Swachh Bharat Pakhwada to be observed next month besides creating awareness about cleanliness among people in the state.
