MCL dedicates 44th Coal India Day celebrations to miners

Sambalpur: Going beyond the fun-filled festivity, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today dedicated 44th Coal India Day celebrations to the miners engaged in 24×7 production and despatch operations of dry fuel for ensuring energy security of the nation.
Leading from the front, Mr R R Mishra, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, MCL went to meet coal miners engaged in production and despatch operations in Ib Valley coalfields of the company in Jharsuguda district of Odisha.
Accompanied by Mr JP Singh, Director (Technical/Operations) and Mr OP Singh, Director (Technical/Projects and Planning), Mr Mishra met the officers and staff in Lakhanpur and Belpahar open cast projects.
Motivating his teams, the CMD said that the target of 162.5 million tonne was achievable and all were required to put in coordinated efforts to increase production and despatch so that the rising demand for coal in the nation is met.
The CMD also chaired the General Managers’ coordination meeting with the Head of Departments at headquarters and discussed the road map to achieve the production target of this year.
Meanwhile, MCL employees and their families participated in the “Run for Excellence” led by Mr KR Vasudevan, Diretor (Finance) along with former Directors of the company — Mr S P Singh, Mr G D Gulab, Mr A K Singh, Mr A K Tiwari, Mr Kulamani Biswal, Mr S C Padhy, Mr P C Panigrahi and Mr K K Parida – who shared their experiences and discussed the future challenges and diversification possibilities.
A motivational talk as a part of traditional J G Kumaramanlam Lecture Series on the occasion was also organised for the employees.
