MCL celebrates 69th Republic day with patriotic fervour

Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, a flagship subsidiary of Coal India Limited under Ministry of Coal, Government of India celebrated 69th Republic Day with a patriotic fervour. The celebrations marked with unfurling of the Tricolour by Shri A K Jha, Chairman and Managing Director, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL). The CMD greeted everyone and also took salute of 23 smartly marching contingents of Security personnel, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, Jagriti Mahila Mandal’s Laadli girls and various schools of Sambalpur.

Director (Personnel) Mr L N Mishra, Chief Vigilance Officer Mr Munwar Khursheed, IRPF, president Jagriti Mahila Mandal Dr Nisha Thakur along with vice-presidents Ms Madhoo Mishra and Ms. Nuashina Afrin Ali were prominent among large number of people participated in the celebrations. Colourful patriotic dance-drama presentations by school children drew huge applause from people. Winners of march-past and cultural programme were also given prizes on this occasion.

Besides, MCL also participated in the State Level observance of 69th Republic Day in the Capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar and presented the biggest Tableau depicting company’s contributions “Beyond Mining Coal” in the grand parade at Mahatma Gandhi Marg.

Showcasing the socio-economic development initiatives of the company, the tableau ‘Beyond Mining Coal’ was well appreciated by the guests and huge crowd watching the parade and display of tableaus on this occasion.
