Bhubaneswar: Mayurbhanj district to be awarded as the Best District in Odisha for achieving success in MGNREGA project implementations during 2013-14 fiscal. District Collector Rajesh Prabhakar Patil to receive the award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on February 2.
District Collector Rajesh Prabhakar Patil said that a total of 2.9 lakh persons belonging to 2.01 lakh households were provided 1.16 crore man-days during the year. While 5,459 projects were completed, 39,260 households got works for 100 days. These were achieved despite the Cyclone Phaillin and subsequent floods affected the district in 2013.
