Talcher: Vishwakarma Puja is being celebrated with great fervour at NTPC Talcher Kaniha from today under aegis of “Sarvajanina Puja Committee”, NTPC Kaniha. As per tradition , the puja commenced with Kalash Yatra in early hours of the day during which employees in large numbers participated.
The day celebrates the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma,regarded as the supreme architect of the world and holds prime importance for NTPC, being in power generation business. Later Shri Ramesh Babu V, Executive Director, Talcher Kaniha along with senior officials. Representatives of Employees Union and association also present on the occasion. He conveyed his good wishes to employees on this auspicious occasion,
As part of the tradition, a ‘community prasadam sevan’ programme was organised for employees, workers and associates family members at the Central Workshop of the plant, in which 4000 people joined the feast with great enthusiasm. To mark the occasion, musical and cultural programme is also being organised.
During the three-daylong festivities, employees including people from nearby villages will visit the pandal & seek the blessings of Lord Viswakarma. The immersion function will be organised on 20.09.019. Master Builder Lord Vishwakarma Puja is an important festival for the power station and it is celebrated with enthusiasm every year among the employees.
