Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: Amid chanting of patriotic slogans, people from different walks of life bid emotional farewell to brave heart Prasanna Sahoo on Saturday night late hailing from Parisikhara village under Naugaon block who lost his life in one of the deadliest terror attack in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
His teen aged son Jagan Sahoo lit in pyre at village crematorium in presence of thousands moist eyed civilians accompanying union minister Dharmendra Pradhan Odisha government envoy finance minister Sasi Bhusan Behera, state planning board deputy chairman Bishnu Das, district collector, superintendent of police and many dignitaries.
People with tears in their eyes stood on roads with flowers and national flags as the coffins arrived at Kandarpur on Saturday evening then the procession moved towards Jagatsinghpur district headquarters. Huge crowds gathered to pay respects to the martyr in road side with anti-Pakistan slogans renting the air later the coffin carrying vehicle reached Jagatsinghpur at 8 PM, district administration officials, police personnel, several organizations paid floral tribute martyred Prasanna Sahoo.
A sea of humanity including thousands of moist eyed women converged at Parisikhar village for the last glimpse of the son of the soil when the body reached village on Saturday night, then the mortal remains consigned to flames in village crematorium where martyr Prasanna Sahoo had born five decades ago.
