Lord Jagannath along with his siblings taken to ‘Adapa Mandapa’ in Gundicha Temple

Puri: The Trinity Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra entered the Shree Gundicha Temple here on Monday evening after moving in the traditional Gotipahandis.

The deities alighted from their respective Raths and moved in Gotipahandi to reach the temple. The Pahandi Bije began at 5.30 pm.

Chakraraj Sudarshan, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jaganath moved in Gotipahand one after another.

All deities reached Garvagruha of the Gundicha Temple by 8.30 pm.

The deities were enthroned on the podium in Gundicha Ghar by Daitapati servitors.

As per the custom, Gotipahandi is conducted when deities enter temples and Dhadipahandi conducted when they come out of temples. Gotipahandi means affixing deities on Singhashan one by one after taking them in Pahandi from chariots.

Darshan of lords will open for devotees from Tuesday morning onwards, said SJTA officials.
