Kunduli gang-rape minor girl deposed before JMFC koraput after discharged from SLCC; alleged 4 jawans involved

Report by Nishapati Nayak; Koraput: The Kunduli gang rape survivor, who was discharged from the Koraput district headquarters hospital(Sajid lakhman Naik medical college) today, again alleged four jawans had abused her sexually.

The survivor stated police is unnecessarily harassing her relatives and four youths of her village.

Talking to media persons, she said, “My relatives are unnecessarily called to the police station and questioned. Had they been involved, I would have named them in my FIR.”

“Besides, the police had detained four youths and grilled them whereas I have said four jawans were involved in the gang rape,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the survivor deposed before the Koraput Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) to record her statements under the Sec 164 CrPC.

On Thursday, DGP RP Sharma stated, “Investigation into the gangrape case is on and lots of facts have come to fore. So far necessary steps in the case have been taken.”

He added, the Koraput SP is personally monitoring the investigation and will share the details once the process gets over.

On October 10, the gang rape survivor, a class nine student, was on her way home from a Kunduli local market, when four men gagged her and dragged her into the forest.

When the girl stated the men were wearing “jungle uniforms”, her family and others alleged the four men belonged to the security forces
