The summer allergy can be due to various causes or environmental factors. Mostly what causes it are the trees and plants surrounding you and also the insects.

Causes of Summer Allergy

1.Pollen

Pollination mostly occurs in trees and plants. It is of various kinds and can be done through either by wind or insects. Due to the wind pollination, some pollen may be left in some inappropriate areas. Pollen is usually a powder-like sticky substance that is used by plants for fertilization. It is very useful by plants but might not be needed by us, human beings, and instead it might affect us. The pollen may affect us since it is in the air that we use for breathing and also we move from place to place not knowing what we encounter with. To prevent summer allergy caused by pollen, it is advisable to know and identify the pollen which one is sensitive to, and avoid them. Also ensure that both the home and car windows are closed at all times when not in use.

2.Weeds

Not every kind of plant or weed is to be blamed for the summer allergy. They vary by the location. Sneezing and sniffing may result from being in areas with weeds such as ragweed, tumbleweed, pig weed, sagebrush and Russian thistle. The ragweed is well known for being the most common in triggering summer allergy. In one season, it produces a billion grains of pollen which is transported through the wind. It is also well known for causing most of other pollen-associated allergies. The symptoms of the summer allergy caused by the ragweed include; sneezing, itchy throat, headaches,

runny nose and irritated eyes. The ragweed is so serious such that it can also trigger some asthma symptoms which may lead to increased coughing. The ragweed allergies can be treated with some allergy medications. At the sight of the symptoms, it is advisable to have your allergy testing and start your medication some weeks before they get to their worst points.

3.Stings from Insects

Some of the insects that are most likely to cause summer allergy include bees, hornets, wasps and fire ants. When they sting, they are likely to cause allergic reactions on the skin. Apart from that, some of their stings could not only cause allergic reactions, but also may be life threatening. Remember that most of these insects are still the same ones that are used by plants in pollination, hence called insect pollination. The effects of the pollen that they transfer from one plant to another is all over their body hence the sting causes allergy- Some of the symptoms caused by the sting of these insects include swelling around the affected area by the sting, itching around the same area, nausea, feeling dizzy or one can even go into a shock.
