KALIA Scheme at PEETHA Camp from Jan 15

Bhubaneswar: The coming PEETHA Camp at Gram Panchayat-level, will be organised from January 15 to 20, focussing on KALIA Scheme (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation). All components under KALIA Scheme for the beneficiaries at GP-level will be discussed during the PEETHA Camp.
The State Government has approved KALIA Scheme to further accelerate agricultural prosperity and reduce poverty in Odisha. It covers 92 percent of the cultivators, loanee as well as non-loanee farmers, share croppers (actual cultivators) and landless agricultural labourers. In order to achieve objective of the scheme, wide-scale publicity through PEETHA Camps is planned.
It can be mentioned here that the Government of Odisha has launched PEETHA (People’s Empowerment-Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiatives) programme as part of 3-T initiative (Technology, Transparency and Team work). Under this programme it has been decided to organize special camps at Gram Panchayat level across the State from 15th to 20th of every month.
The IEC programme on KALIA Scheme at PEETHA Camp will have a standard programme as per schedule decided by the State Government for effective dissemination of the information. The designated GP Nodal Officer (GPNO) will be the main coordinator of the event. He/she shall coordinate with the Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) and other functionaries of PEETHA Camp of the GP for a successful IEC programme with videos and information, education and communication (IEC) materials.
KALIA Barta Update
KALIA Barta, an innovative information service by the Odisha Government to facilitate dissemination of information to farmers about the KALIA Scheme, has added more than 2.63 lakh farmers till date.
While more than 20.08 lakh SMS were sent to people wanting to know about the KALIA Scheme, by this afternoon, more than 26.10 lakh people have so far visited the website www.kalia.co.in to know more about the new scheme for the farmers.
