JSPL starts observation of National Fire Service Week

Angul: Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) started observation of National Fire Service Week at its Angul Steel Plant on April 14, 2019. As a part of the observation, the Fire and Safety department of JSPL has lined up a series of awareness and training programs for staff members and the students of various schools in its surrounding areas.

The weeklong observation, which will continue till April 20, was started with floral tribute to the Fire and Rescue Services personnel, who sacrificed their lives during rescue operations in 1944 at the Victoria Dock in the then Bombay, by Executive Director (Maintenance) Mr. Suresh Kumar, EVP & Head-Group OH&S Mr. Ravikant Somani along with various other department heads and a large number of employee of JSPL. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Suresh Kumar highlighted the importance of the day as well as fire safety in workplace as well as at our daily life.

Among others Mr. Ravikant Somani, Mr. B.P. Singh, Mr. David Samantray also delivered the importance of Fire Service Day. by Mr. Navin Gautam, GM-Process Safety presented the vote of thanks.

During the weeklong observation different programmes such as fighting skill demonstration by fire team and Putting on Breathing Apparatus Set Competition among its employees and contract workers, awareness drive for homemakers as well as students are planned by Fire & Safety department of JSPL.

Students of O.P. Jindal School, DAV-Savitri Jindal School, O.P. Jindal Community College, and Centenary Tribal High School at Parang will be participating in the awareness drive on fire safety by JSPL.
