JSPL Foundation Organizes High School Kho-Kho & Kabaddi Tournament

 

Angul: JSPL Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) organized a Two-days long Inter-High-School Kho-Kho and Kabaddi tournament at DAV-Savitri Jindal High School Ground, Badamahita, Angul. Teams from 14 local High-School participated in this mega tournament with their best players. Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sahu, DSO-Angul and Mr. Prashant Kumar Sinha, IPE-Angul graced the valedictory ceremony held today as Chief-Guest and Guest-of-Honor respectively and presented the trophies to the respective winners of the tournament in presence of Mrs. Puspalata Satapathy, GM-CSR, JSPL, Mr. Fakirmohan Sahu, Head-Master,DAVSavitri JIndal High-School and other dignitaries.

The girls’ of DAV-Savitri Jindal School, clinched the Kho-Kho and Kabaddi trophies by defeating the students of Brojamohan High School, Jarada and the Centenary Tribal High School, Paranga. Whereas the boys’ of DAV-Savitri Jindal High-School lifted the Kho-Kho championship trophy by defeating Centenary Tribal High-School Paranga and the students of Tukuda High-School became the Kabaddi champion by defeating Badakerjang High-School in boys category.

Attending the function Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sahu, advised the students to keep-up the sporting spirit and to do regular practice if they aspire to make professional career in sports. “A perfect sportsperson never gives-up practice and it is proved that only practice makes a man perfect,” he said.

Guest of honour in the valedictory function Mr. Prashant Kumar Sinha appreciated the efforts of JSPL Foundation in promoting and conducting such kind of tournaments to enhance the sportsman spirit among these new students.

Distinguished players like Nandini Bhoi, Rina Bhoi, Kanha Pattnayak and Surjyakant Behera were also awarded for their outstanding performance in different categories.
