Angul: Remembering the sacrifices of the martyrs on 46th Vijay Diwas, Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), Angul, paid homage to the brave souls of the nation by observing the 46th ‘Vijay Diwas’ with a Mini-Marathon at the JSPL Township. Executive Director (I/c) and Location Head of JSPL’s Angul unit Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi flagged off the marathon at 7.00am today at the Sports Arena of the Jindal Nagar Township in presence of Brig. K. K. Chopra, Mr. A. N. Tiwari (EVP-CGP); Mr. R.P. Lenka (EVP-Phase 1B); Swami Satyabindu Swaraswati, Capt. Ajit Singh and various HoDs of different departments, employees with their family and local villagers.
More than 500 people, including Employees of JSPL, their family members, security personnel, children along with senior citizens and members of Jindal Mahila Samiti were participated in this Six km. run to remember the valiant act of Indian Army in the 1971 war and their won over Pakistani armies.
Addressing the sprinters of the marathon Mr. D.K. Saraogi said, “we shall always remember the sacrifices of our brave solders who laid their life for the motherland and made our country and its citizens proud. We salute those brave souls and their contribution for the nation and this is the occasion which reiterates us to pledge to remember their bravery for forever”.
Winners of different categories of the marathon were awarded with certificate and trophies.
This event was successfully organized by the Sports Committee of Jindal Officers Club and its members.
