JSPL Celebrates Naveen Jindal’s Birthday as ‘Fitness Day’

 

Bhubaneswar: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) celebrated Birthday of its Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal as ‘Fitness Day’ across all its business locations in Odisha. A series of programmes were organised to raise awareness about physical wellness among people at Angul, Barbil, Tensa and Bhubaneswar. Employees with their family members, local villagers and children participated in these programmes.

On this day, special yoga and meditation training session was organised at Juvenile Home, Angul. also a Girls Kabbadi Competition was organised at DAV Savitri Jindal High School. The Competition was inaugurated by President of Jindal Mahila Samiti Smt. Anjali Misra. At Jindal Nagar, Angul a free Yoga and meditation session was organised under the guidance of Swami Satyabindu Saraswati. More than 250 employees & their family members joined this special Yoga session.

Addressing the employees, ED (In-Charge) & Head of JSPL’s Angul unit Shri Atul Misra said, “Physical Fitness is highly important for improving quality of life. By celebrating birthday of Shri Naveen Jindal ji as Fitness Day is an acknowledgement towards his initiatives to improve physical fitness among people. We should work hard towards fulfilling the vision of our hon’ble Chairman.” He also highlighted inspiring leadership and patriotism of Shri Jindal.

At Barbil, the Ladies Club members, led by Smt. Sridevi Suresha distributed LED solar lanterns among 35 households of Bentkar Sahi, a hamlet on the outskirt of the pellet plant. Quiz, debate and essay writing competitions were organised among students of Govt ITI, Barbil and OP Jindal Community College. At the end the winners were given prizes. A cake cutting ceremony was organised to mark the occasion by employees of JSPL. Unit Head Mr. Suresha G addressed the gathering.

Similarly, the Day was celebrated with a yoga sessions was organised at JSPL’s TRB Iron Ore Mines, Tensa. Unit Head of the Tensa Shri Pramod Kumar Patra Jindal urged the employees to practice yoga and exercise to keep themselves fit.

Bhubaneswar Office of JSPL also celebrated the Day with a special birthday wish ceremony organised in the office premises with participation of all the employees. Food packets were distributed among children of ‘Ama Ghara’ run by Mission Ashra at the vicinity of Bhubaneswar.
