Bhubaneswar: JK Paper has recently won the prestigious OdishaInc Green CSR Award for 2018. The award was received by Mr. Prafulla Kumar Dhal, the General Manager of JK Paper from Shri Pratap Jena, Honorable Minister of Health, Law, Information & Broadcasting, Government of Odisha.
The award citation mentioned about the work of JK Paper and appreciated its focus on environment friendly technology, agriculture and energy. It went on to read that “JK Paper is a renowned name in the global paper industry. The work at JK Paper-Rayagada has attracted national and international attention for their unique approach to socio-economic development, livelihood generation and environmental protection towards the empowerment of the underprivileged communities in the area. JK Paper has won several awards for their result oriented interventions in the environment, sustainability and climate change mitigations. While working towards a carbon positive mission they have revolutionized the energy landscape in the region by using solar energy with a potential to impact for than 100000 farmers by 2020”.
The citation further mentioned that the Odisha Inc Award in Green CSR is an acknowledgement of the JK Paper CSR’s green and sustainable initiatives and the excellent ground level work done in this area by its program implementing agency, the Sparsh Foundation.
While speaking to media persons here Mr. Dhal thanked the Minister Shri Jena and the jury of the OdishaInc Awards. He shared about the successful journey of JK Paper in Odisha and how it has added value to the local communities of Rayagada.
