Jitendra Mishra selected as Jury for the ‘Tel Aviv (Israel) International Children’s film festival – 2017’

New Delhi: Film producer & promoter Jitendra Mishra is being selected & invited as one of the eminent Juries for the prestigious ‘Tel Aviv (Israel) International Children’s film festival 2017’. This year both India & Israel are celebrating 25th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the two countries and the prime minister of India Mr Narendra Modi is also travelling to Israel next week. While Narendra Modi, will be the first Indian prime minister to visit Israel, Jitendra Mishra will be the first Indian film producer & promoter to be invited as one of the Juries for the Tel Aviv international Children’s film festival.


‘Tel Aviv International Children’s film festival’ is one of the most reputed and credible children’s film festivals in the world. Celebrated film makers, actors, directors & industry professionals from across the globe participate in the festival which is scheduled in Tel Aviv, Cinematheque during 18-22 July this year. In addition to the screenings, the festival holds meetings, master classes, workshops and discussions with filmmakers and educators. Mr Mishra is going to host a Industry session about the Children’s Film Industry in India, experience of Producing children’s film in India & co-production opportunities between India and Israel during the festival. He is travelling from 17th July.

Mr Mishra, who is widely known for producing & promoting meaningful films from India at international platforms, has already been associated with the production, distribution and promotion of more than 110 films in all categories: Short Films, Documentaries, and Feature Films. Many of them have got worldwide acclamation and recognition. He is one of the few Indian film industry experts who have been able to create a benchmark in ‘Alternative method of Film Production, Promotion & Distribution’ across the globe. Committed towards meaningful cinema, Jitendra has been associated only with socially relevant films which are a balance of the right content and creativity, with an objective to get meaningful cinema out there for everyone and to encourage filmmakers of this genre. Critically acclaimed film ‘I am Kalam’, Hollywood feature film ‘Desires of the Heart’ , ‘Kajarya’ , ‘Chausar’, ’Aasma’, ‘Goatspeak’ are few recent films among others. Apart from this, he has also designed and implemented several international festivals, workshops and campaigns. He has been the festival director of the unique film festival ‘SIFFCY’ (Smile Int’l Film Festival for Children & Youth) initiated by Smile Foundation.

We share a very good relationship with Israel and celebrating 25th years of relationship this year, since the up-gradation of relations in 1992, defense and agriculture have been the main pillars of bilateral engagement and in recent years, ties have expanded to areas such as Science &Technology, education and homeland security, but I envision a vast prospects in better coproduction opportunities between the two nations including exchange of Art, culture, heritage values & cinema”, Jitendra said on this occasion.
