Interlude to the Bhubaneswar International Art Fair2018 inaugurated

Bhubaneswar: In a first of its kind, 80 eminent Odia artists from across the world are exhibiting their artworks at Rashtriya Lalit Kala Akademi, Bhubaneswar. Delhi-Bhubaneswar based Art Fair Magazine, a premier Magazine of contemporary visual culture and Suvadra Trust in Bhubaneswar have organised this event named ‘Interlude to the Bhubaneswar International Art Fair 2018’. The exhibition was inaugurated by London based eminent artist Prafulla Mohanti, Director of Lalit Kala Akademi ,Padma Vibhushan Dr. Radhunath Mohapatra, in the presence of Bhubaneswar MP Dr. Prasanna Patsani acting as the chief guest.
The art exhibition An Interlude: Contemporary Visual Expressions, Viewership and Meaning, will display art works by eminent artists and art students, discussions on relationship of visual art and other forms of art, and cultural programmes. The exhibition is the brainchild of Chairman Er. Surya Rath, and has been curated by Curatorial and Academic Director Dr. Rajashree Biswal with contributions from Art Director of the event Birendra Pani.
The art works presented in various mediums comprises paintings, print making, photography, sculpture, installations, video based art works, etc. The modern section holds a special display by London based veteran artist Prafulla Mohanti on abstract concepts like Bindu, Shunya, Shanti and other concepts derived from Hindu philosophy and from his life experience as an Odia.
The exhibition also features art works from eminent artists like Muralidhar Tali, Jatin Das, Durga Prasad Das, Dr. Dinanath Pathy, Bipracharan Mohanty, Rabi Narayan Rath, Birendra Pani, Pratul Dash, Dr. J. P. Das, Ramahari Jena, Tarakanta Parida, and many young and talented artists like Pratap Jena, Pinaki R. Mohanty, Daina Mohapatra, Sangram Rout, Biswaranjan Kar, Satyabhama Majhi, Biswajita Moharana, Helen Brahma, Nityananda Ojha, Kanta Kishor Moharana, Mayadhar Sahu among others.
This event intends to have a new visual cultural literacy among the local public and most importantly among the younger generation of people. The 5 day event will see discussion sessions with eminent artists on topics like Art & Literature, Art & Architecture, Art & Performance, Art & Smart City, Art & Film, and its dynamics pertaining to The Public.
Bhubaneswar MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena. SJ. Administrator of Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, Krishna Shetty, Editor of The Samaja Bampada Tripathy and Bubaneswar Income Tax Commissioner Sarat Dash (IRS) were also present.
