INSAF, Odisha Supports The Genuine & Legitimate Strike/Movement by the Teachers

Bhubaneswar:’ Odisha School-College Teacher’s United Forum’ is on the war path and has been continuing their indefinite strike since last 11 days in front of Odisha Legislative Assembly demanding abolition of anti-education and anti-teacher Block Grant system and introduce of Full Pay system.
It may be noted that though the Honorable Supreme Court of India in a historic judgment recognized the demands for ‘Equal Pay for Equal Work’, the governments of different states including Odisha are openly violating the direction and engaged with mass exploitation of workers.

Though the teacher and lecturer of more than five thousand(5000) schools and colleges have been continuously rendering their services for the students and society their life and livelihood in a miserable condition. The builder of the nation and future generation are living their life as bonded laborer. Lot of promises for the increase of their salaries and other increments by the ruling party leaders has been veined during the time and time . They are not yet getting full scale of pay or basic pay after 20-25 years of rendering their services in distress condition.
The bureaucratic conspiracy to undermine the genuine demands of the teacher community will be boomerang for the government of Odisha. Hypocrite tract ice to hanging the legitimate demands of teachers and any oppressive measures by the government machinery will add fuel like situation. If the government will not take appropriate measures to solve the burning demands of the teachers, that will hamper the life of lakhs of poor students who are not able to avail the facilities of private or commercial school and colleges.
In this context, Indian Social Action Forum(INSAF), a country wide forum of mass organizations, social organizations and people movements support the legitimate and democratic movement of ‘Odisha School-College Teacher’s United Forum’ and demanding before government to take immediate step to solve the issues with a view for the greater interest of student and teacher community. On behalf of INSAF, Odisha State Unit, state convener Mr. Narendra Mohanty, and National Executive Member Satish Mishra, Nitu Chakia and Damodar Barik supports the genuine demands of the teachers by the press statement.
