Paradip: Indian Oil observed World AIDS Day 2012 with the theme “Towards Zero infection, Zero discrimination and Zero AIDS related deaths” at 10 locations of the project. Awareness programmes were conducted simultaneously at 10 sites of the project with massive gathering of workers. M Vijaywargiya, Executive Director-I/C(Project), Paradip Refinery addressed workers at Kazstroy Services site and stressed on the need of awareness, prevention and non-discrimination on AIDS. He stated that prevention is the best cure and we have to take care to ensure that HIV infections do not happen. Vijaywargiya also said that there are many misconceptions about HIV and AIDS, also what steps could be taken to prevent infections. Doctors at site explained the historical and medical implications of AIDS. At the KSS location, the meeting was also addressed by D Kundu, DGM (PDRP), RL Kalita, DGM (HSE-PDRP), D Gwayne, Foster Wheeler, Alok Ray, Project Director-KSS etc.
