Speaking of centuries, Sachin is the only cricketer with a record of 100 international centuries. Thanks to his record on an off the pitch, Tendulkar is one of India’s most beloved athletes.

Dhyan Chand (Field Hockey)

Hockey fans know Chand as “the wizard.” And like Sachin, the field hockey specialist is believed to be the best player at his sport. He scored over 400 goals in his two decades-long career. But his greatest achievement according to Indian hockey fans is his three gold medals at the 1928, 1932 and 1936 Olympic Games.

Rahul Dravid

A former captain to the Indian national cricket team and a treasure to all cricket fans, Dravid was an outstanding player throughout his career. He’s nicknamed “the wall” for his exceptional defensive prowess and features incredible stats as a batsman.

Most Impressive Active Athletes

PV Sindhu (Badminton)

Sindhu is far from achieving what the likes of Sachin and Chand achieved in their respective sports. But after clinching a silver medal in 2016, the then 22-year-old became wildly famous in the country. She was the first Indian to win a Badminton medal at the Olympics and her fans expect a lot more medals in the future.

Suraj Narredu (Horse Jockey)

Like Sindhu, Suraj is still active in his profession but performs so well that he could become a future legend. Coming from a long line of jockeys, Suraj provides a mix of pure talent and hard work to win races and awards. This makes him not only a star in the horse racing world but also a favourite with the bookmakers.
