IMFA donates Rs.10 lakhs for Rayagada flood affected

Report by Badal Tah, Rayagada: After the appeal of Smt.Guha Punam Tapas Kumar, Collector, Rayagada to the local industrial houses like Indian Metal Ferro Alloys(IMFA) Ltd at Therubali, Utkal Alumina International Ltd(UAIL) at Doraguda-Tikiri, J K Paper Mills Ltd at Chandili, Vedanta Alumina Ltd(VAL) at Lanjigarh, IMFA was the pioneer in donating Rs.10 lakhs for the flood relief operation at different blocks of Rayagada district. Sri Ramanath Praharaj, Vice-President, IMFA, Therubali and Sri Rana Ranjan Mohanty, General Manager, HR & Admn, IMFA, Therubali in the presence of Sri Muralidhar Swain, PA, ITDA, Rayagada and eminent denizens of Rayagada handed over the cheque to the Collector.

Apart from this, IMFA has distributed cooked food, dry food like flat rice, molasses, biscuits, candle, safe drinking water, etc to the flood affected people at the flood rehabilitation shelters opened in various schools of Majhiguda GP. The Vice-President of IMFA alongwith a few staff has gone to these shelters and personally distributed these materials. This good Samaritan role of IMFA at this crucial juncture has been appreciated by local people and the effort of Collector Guha in mobillising local resources for a cause has been applauded.
