IMFA celebrates 47th national safety week

Report by Badal Tah; Rayagada: Sri K V Rao, Chief of IMFA, Therubali on the eve of inaugurating the week long national safety week in its campus in Therubali as Chief Guest reiterated the theme of “Reinforce positive behaviour at work place to achieve safety and health goals”. Rao hoisted the safety flag and administered the safety pledge by the employees. He emphasized on ethics of safety standards to be followed by every employee & workman including contract agency worker at work places both at industry and house & community levels in personal and professional lives. Sri E V Umamaheswar, SGM, Production, who participated as Guest of Honour, described about the continuous and innovative efforts & various initiatives taken up by IMFA to ensure zero incident at all work places in its area of operation.

During this week, various quiz, debate, slogan, drawing competitions were held among school students, employees & their family members to make them aware about safety measures and precautions to be taken. On the last day prizes were distributed to the winners by the Chief Guest Sri Bibekananda Nayak, Director, Factories & Boilers, Rayagada. Nayak appreciated the safety measures taken up by IMFA in his valedictory speech. The function culminated with a spectacular drama on safety measures enacted by IMFA employees. While Mr.Bhagabat Prasad, Sr. Officer, Safety coordinated the entire event, Sri J S Kumar extended vote of thanks to all the august gathering and participants in the event. IMFA, as one of the oldest industry of the region, has been a forerunner of safety & security of not only its employees and contract workers but also the communities in its periphery.
