Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience cold from November 1 as a trough line found in the sky is moving towards the Bay of Bengal. Due to the effect of the trough line, rains are expected in various places in the State till October 31.
According to IMD predictions, the trough of low at mean sea level over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood persists with the range between 3.6 km and 4.5 km. The weather will remain cloudy in some places during onset of winter under the influence of the trough line.
The IMD predicted rains in few coastal areas between Oct 30 and 31. After the trough line preceedes towards the Bay of Bengal, the weather would be dry and wind would blow from the north-east direction, following which Odisha would feel the touch of winter from November 1, said MeT Bhubaneswar Director Sarat Sahoo.
