Bhubaneswar: India Meteorological Department predicts heavy rainfall over various parts of Odisha till July 20. A cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a low pressure, resulting in heavy rainfall over various parts of Odisha till July 20, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre predicted on Saturday. On the otherhand SRC asks collectors to stay alert.
It is indicated that low pressure is likely to form on July 16 and would intensify into a depression the next day. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur in coastal Odisha from Saturday. From Sunday up to July 18, very heavy rainfall is likely to lash south Odisha and adjoining coastal districts. On the other hand, very heavy rainfall is likely to take place in north interior districts from July 19 to 20, the Met office added.
