ICAI, Bhubaneswar Chapter organised Young CMA Award Function, Odisha Governor attended as Chief Guest

Bhubaneswar: Nearly two-thirds of orgnisation around the world are becoming increasingly worried about the growing skills shortage. The gap between the skills of the current workforce and the skills businesses need to achieve their growth plans is widening. Business leaders are looking for people with a far wider range of skills than ever before for improving growth prospects. With rising costs in all sectors, reducing overheads and expenses, sharing resources and expanding offerings to provide a more diverse selection of services to clients does make some sense. To succeed in today’s accounting, finance and audit environments, professionals are expected to have a wider range of skills than ever before said Governor Dr. S.C.Jamir.
Addressing in the Young CMA Award function of Bhubaneswar Chapter of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Governor said in today’s world, facing the highly competitive and globalizing environment, everyone in every profession must aspire to be well equipped for more and more challenges.
Congratulating the awardees for their success and achievement, Governor advised to continue their journey in the search for higher knowledge and excellence, as the profession requires to cope with the rapidly changing business environment when International Accounting Standard is also changing rapidly.
Accountancy is not just dealing with the accounts according to the accounting principles, but there is also the need to understand many new things of business activities that may not directly related to accounting but could have significant impacts on accounting treatment and management decisions to which accountancy professionals are expected to contribute, Governor added.
Governor Dr. Jamir inaugurated mega blood donation camp on the occasion and appreciated the noble tradition of commemorating the annual function by organizing a mega blood donation camp for the last 48 years as a part of corporate social responsibility.
Sanjay Gupta, President ICAI, Niranjan Mishra, Council Member, ICAI, Siba Prasad Kar, Chairman, ICAI, Bhubaneswr Chapter, Damodar Mishra, Secretary among others spoke on the occasion. Governor released Newsletter of ICAI, Bhubaneswar Chapter and gave away Young CMA awards.
