Bhubaneswar: The State Government today appointed Cooperation Secretary Krishan Kumar as the Administrator of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The Housing and Urban Development Department, in a notification, said the five-year term of the BMC expired Wednesday (January 16, 2019) and Kumar, a 2002-batch IAS officer, will now discharge the duties of the corporation and it’s Mayor till the date of the first meeting of the newly elected corporators.
The appointment has been made as per sub section (6) of section 48 of the Odisha Municipal Corporation Act, 2003 (Odisha Act, 11 of 2003).
