Bhubaneswar: “The brave sons of Odisha, who have lost their lives in Pulwama attack, have made the state and all of us proud. Navratna NALCO salutes their sacrifices and as a responsible corporate citizen, is always with the grief-stricken families of the brave martyrs,” said Dr.Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO, while honouring the family members of Martyr Manoj Kumar Behera and Martyr Prasanna Kumar Sahoo, the martyrs of the Pulwama terrorist attack from Odisha. NALCO felicitated the families of the two martyrs and paid heartfelt tribute to them as part of the Utkal Divas celebration held here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chand shared the significant success achieved in the field of production, productivity, profitability and people engagement in FY 2018-19 by the company.
Along with celebrating the success of the fiscal, NALCO also felicitated the upcoming sporting star of NALCO Debidatta Mishra, who has achieved significant success in the field of athletics.
NALCO’s revamped website was also launched on the occasion by Dr. Chand. The renewed website is rich with advanced features and technologies, keeping in tune with Industry 4.0.
The Utkal Divas celebration also marked the release of ‘Sanginee’, the latest edition of the Quarterly Magazine of NALCO Mahila Samiti and a lively Odissi dance performance.
Among others, Shri V. Balasubramanyam, Director (Production), Shri B.K. Thakur, Director (HR), Shri S.K. Roy, Director (P&T), Shri P.K. Mishra, Director (Commercial), Shri Sridhar Patra, Director (Finance), Smt. Preeti Roy Chand, President, NALCO Mahila Samiti, senior officials of NALCO and representatives of Unions and Association were present on the occasion.
