Bhubaneswar: The State Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill and Value Added Tax (VAT) Amendment Bill 2017 passed in Odisha Assembly by voice-voting. Leader of the Oppostion Narsingha Mishra says bill has flaws, no data on whether revenue will increase or decline.
Finance minister Shasi Bhusan Behera refutes Opposition allegations; says farmers, sharecroppers kept out of GST ambit. He reiterated that GST will unify at least 17 central and state taxes together.
