Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik formally joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Retired IPS officer and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik formally joins BJD in the presence party president and CM Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Nivas in Bhubaneswar .

The 63-year-old Patnaik was the 36th Police Commissioner of Mumbai. He retired September 30, 2015, following 36 years in service, during which he also received the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2003.
He is also a recipient of Indian Police Medal for meritorious service in 1994. He was the first and only Odia to hold the post of Police Commissioner of Mumbai.
