Bhubaneswar: Former bureaucrat Aparajita Sarangi wins from Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency. She defeated her BJD rival former top police officer Arup Mohan Patnaik by a margin over 23,000 votes.
Sarangi, who earned a reputation as a pro-people IAS officer during her stints in various departments in the State, was able to get connected with people and was appreciated for her direct approach. After her victory, Sarangi took to her twitter handle, saying, “I look forward to the new innings as a people’s representative and serve them to the best.” She also told media that she would endeavour to make Bhubaneswar the best constituency with the support of all political parties.
