First classical dance festival from India will celebrate guru shishya parampara in abroad, Aekalavya season 9 in Malaysia

Report by Odisha Diary bureau, Bhubaneswar: Lasyakala the premium odissi institution of odisha founded by internationally acclaimed  odissi  dancer and choreographer Saswat Joshi. Every year LDV( lasyakala dance vision)  organise it’s annual festival  Aekalavya,tribute to guru shishya parampara and gives Aekalavya samman to eminent artist  of the international repute. The ninth edition  of Aekalavya will celebrate it’s festival  this year in Malaysia in association with Netajee Subash Chandra Bose Indian  cultural center, High Commission  of India, Kuala Lumpur. This is the first  time one classical  dance festival  will celebrate  the essence  of classical  dance in abroad  with Indian  classical  dancer.. The group  of 14 people  from India  will travel  to abroad and they will perform in Temple of fine Arts ,shantanand auditorium ,20th March, 6.30 pm. From the Lasyakala seven odissi  dancer Ananya Mihir, Akankshya kumari, Asima priyadarshini,Jagruti Rath,Bibhudutta Das, subhadra susmita along  with saswat joshi will perform  and inaugurate the ninth  edition  of Aekalavya. Odissi guru  Dr. Ileana citaristi, famous dance critic Tapati chowudhurie, Aekalavya awardee kathak dancer Manisha Gulyani ,actress and Bharat natyam dancer Jhilik Bhattacharjee  will be a part  of the festival too. In this regard odissi dancer  sandhya Manoj  will recive Aekalavya samman 2017 for odissi dance, along  with Guru Shankar kandasamy for Bharat natyam will be given  as Aekalavya samman, Tribute  to guru shishya parampara. The High commissioner of India T. S.  Tirumurti and Deputy High commissioner of India shri Nikhilesh chandra Giri along with founder  of Lasyakala Saswat Joshi has invited all to attend  this grand event..
