“The whereabouts of Babula Panda is yet to be traced. He has criminal antecedents. We are tracking his mobile phone. During our investigation we came to know that he has talked to a woman and we are interrogating her to reach Babula,” said Singh.
It should be noted that the incident of missing of late freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda’s grandson Babula has prompted the BJP to level serious charges against two BJD leaders, accusing them of having a hand in the incident.
BJP MLA Pradeep Purohit alleged that Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das and BJD spokesperson Rabi Narayan Nanda were behind the missing of Babula.
“The BJD hatched a conspiracy in hiding Babula. It is a pre-planned abduction in which two senior leaders of BJD Pranab Prakash Das and Rabi Narayan Nanda are actively involved in this. We demand verification of their call records,” Purohit alleged at a Press meet. Now, there is a threat to Babula’s life, he added.
But Nanda said, “The BJP forgot about the safety of the relatives of the freedom fighter after felicitating them. Now, it has pointed fingers at others in a bid to cover up its own mistake. The BJP is habituated in making such baseless statement. I am ready to face any sort of investigation.”
