Emergency Response to Cyclone Fani affected communities of Brhamagiri Block, Puri District, Odisha

Brhamagiri: 17 villages from 4 most affected pancahayats of Brahamagiri block targeted for intermediate support with Food, Shelter and WASH needs to 1200 families. Caritas India, AJSA and IVN continuously working together in identifying households and distributed relief material to the most affected in cyclone Fani from Niajapur and Tantakera villages of Brahmagiri block of Puri district. Dibyang, Single women and SC & ST and minorities were set priority as beneficiary target group,
255 Shelter Kit with Tarpaulin for rooftop and Ground, Rope, Sleeping Mat & Mosquito Net were distributed to the 255 families. 35 WASH Kit and 35 Food Kit were also supported to 35 most vulnerable families.
The emergency response is targeted to reach 12000 families. Besides this, more villages will be covered under intermediate phases based on the need assessment in coming days.
Volunteers from IVN led by Mr Prasant, Project Coordinator, AJSA, Mr. Nutan and Father Karuna from Caritas India coordinated the entire relief distribution programme.
