Dharmendra Pradhan dedicated several passenger amenities to public at Sambalpur Railway Station

 

Sambalpur : Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan dedicated several passenger amenities to public including escalators, ramps, food plaza and the mechanized ‘Build, Own, Operate and Transfer'(BOOT) laundry at Sambalpur Railway Station to provide quality washed linens for increased comfort of the passengers during train journeys.

Minister Pradhan also laid the foundation stone of welfare projects undertaken by ONGC & Indian Oil for construction of hostel building at SSVM Kuchinda & Kesaibahal college & school building at Kuchinda & a new block for higher secondary section at Dhanupali for benefit of the students.

“It’s shocking that youth in Bolangir, Kalahandi & Bargarh is moving to other states for employment opportunity. Hon. PM Shri Narendra Modi has envisioned, development of eastern states to bring them at par with western region of the country for the overall development of India,” said Minister Pradhan while adressing the gathering.

Minister Pradhan said that in 2014, less than 60,000 households among the 2.80 lakh in Sambalpur had LPG Connection. Today 1.70 lakh households have LPG connection & over 75,000 families have been provided with PMUY. Soon, the people of Sambalpur, Bargarh & Deogarh will also get PNG connectivity.

He also urged the State Government to provide 5 acres of land for establishment of a National Museum based on Freedom Fighter Veer Surendra Sai, Hirakud, Sambalpuri Textile, social life, culture and tradition of the region.
